Pepper Schwartz, Ph.D. received her doctorate from Yale University and is Schrag Professor of Sociology at the University of Washington. She is the past president of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality and the Pacific Sociological Association and Chairperson of the Board of the National Sexuality Resource Council. In 2007, she as received awards for excellence in teaching from the Panhellenic Association of the UW and a Distinguished Alumni award from Washington University in St Louis.

She is the author of over fifty academic articles and sixteen books, the latest of which is Prime: Adventures and advice about sex and love and the sensual years (HarperCollins, 2007).

She is the relationship expert at Perfectmatch.com and designed their compatibility matching system. She is currently the co-host of a 2007 series on dating over 55 that is on Retirement Living TV ( co produced with Perfectmatch.com)
